I GOT THIS GOLF ACADEMIES LAUNCH NATIONWIDE
PHOENIX, AZ...The I GOT THIS Foundation has partnered with Touchstone Golf and the Touchstone Golf Foundation for the national launch of the I GOT THIS Golf Academy. The academy is the heart of the I GOT THIS mission to provide professional golf instruction to athletes with intellectual disabilities. The program consists of 10 hours of instruction over a five week period teaching grip, posture, stance, building motion as well as chipping, putting and driving the ball.
Touchstone Golf will host beginner I GOT THIS Golf Academies at San Marcos Golf Resort (AZ), Chula Vista Golf Course (CA), Lady Bird Johnson Municipal (TX), Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans (LA), Presidio Golf Course (CA), Colonial Park Golf Course (NM), Grey Rock Golf Club (TX), Rancho Carlsbad Golf Club(CA) and Applewood Golf Course (CO).
Ashley van Dissel, Touchstone Golf VP of Sales and Marketing, described the support of Touchstone Golf and Touchstone Golf Foundation, "We believe that all of our courses are a great fit for the I GOT THIS Golf Academies." She continued, "Our experience last fall hosting the I GOT THIS Academy at San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona was really successful. We love the mission of the I GOT THIS Foundation and look forward to partnering with them, again, to grow the game of golf for this underserved community by involving more of our courses and instructors." Touchstone Golf was recently recognized among the top 100 businesses in golf by the National Golf Foundation.
"Our beginner academy is designed to create a foundation of the skills required for anyone to play golf," said I GOT THIS Foundation Executive Director Tracy Hupko. "We look to instructors like those at Touchstone Golf who will embrace our methodology and deliver a professional quality experience for athletes in the intellectual disability community. We are honored to have Touchstone Golf by our side as we work to promote inclusive golf." As a result of this partnership, the I GOT THIS Foundation and Touchstone Golf Foundation will impact the lives of over 100 athletes. I GOT THIS Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing golf instruction, playing opportunities, and organized events, for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. The Foundation is committed to teaching people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities to play golf, paving the way for them to compete in leagues with typical peers, join high school teams and even obtain athletic college scholarships.
