PHOENIX, AZ – The Board of Directors has named Tracy L. Hupko as the Executive Director of I GOT THIS Foundation.
Hupko moves to the foundation after spending over seven years with the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Her experience and knowledge in working with a professional sports organization combined with a heavy experiential background from her time at The Walt Disney Company and Disney ABC Television Group is the perfect blend to carve a path for the development and growth of the foundation.
As Hupko assumes her new role on June 15, she will be responsible for representing I GOT THIS Foundation both locally and nationally while being a highly visible member of the golfing community. As Executive Director she will partner with the Board of Directors to develop the organization’s strategic plan and provide leadership, direction, and direct engagement in plan execution. Hupko will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for foundation events, programs, partnerships, and organization expansion.
“We are extremely excited that Tracy will be joining I GOT THIS Foundation,” said Board President Lindsey Corbin. “Her extensive experience, paired with her passion for golf and disability inclusion fits perfectly with our mission”
Throughout her career, Hupko has been responsible for sales, operations, business development, fundraising, marketing, and recruitment. She currently serves as the Sales & Marketing Manager for the LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup. Prior to that, she was an Account Sales Manager with Disney ABC Television Group at Radio Disney in Phoenix, Arizona. Hupko also served as the Director of Sales for North America for FreightScan, Regional Cargo Sales Manager for US Airways, and National Sales Training Manager for WorldCom Wireless. Along with her husband, they own Studio 8 Event Entertainment in Mesa, Arizona. Hupko studied at Arizona State University.
Hupko will spend the balance of the year developing the rollout of the IGT Golf Academy on a national level while fundraising to support the growing project. In addition, she will oversee IGT Clinics, social media, and grant administration.
“I have spent the last seven years committed to growing the game of golf and leaving it better than I found it. I cannot think of a better way, a time, or an organization to take golf to a new level. A level that allows true diversity, equity, and inclusion to those in our communities with intellectual disabilities, “says Hupko. “Golf is a game for everyone and the I GOT THIS Foundation takes that to heart. I am honored to tee it up with Amy Bockerstette and her Foundation.”
The I Got This Foundation has a mission to provide golf instruction and playing opportunities for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. I Got This was launched by Amy Bockerstette and her family on her twenty-first birthday in 2019. Amy is a student-athlete at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, where she plays golf on a full scholarship and studies Dance. She is the first person with Down syndrome to receive a collegiate athletic scholarship. Representing Special Olympics Arizona, Amy played the par 3 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale with PGA Tour player Gary Woodland at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open. After hitting her tee shot into a greenside bunker, she parred the hole with an 8-foot putt, telling the group “I Got This!” The video capturing the moment is the most viewed video in PGA Tour history, receiving over 51 million views.
